About Nettle Meadow.
Located in Thurman, New York, in the Adirondacks, Nettle Meadow Farm functions not only as a goat farm and cheese producer, but also as a rescue farm sanctuary. Founded in 1990, Nettle Meadow is run by Lorraine Lambiase and mother-daughter team Joan Flanagan and Sheila Flanagan. Together they oversee 300-plus goats, dozens of sheep and an assortment of llamas, horses, chickens and ducks. Many of the sanctuary animals are retired and rescued farm animals, and the farm also includes a nursery where young goat kids and lambs are raised to eventually become part of the dairy herd.Nettle Meadow is committed to the principles of natural ingredients, happy animals and hand-crafted artisan cheeses.
