Camp Coordination/Management Cluster Overview

 

 

The CCCM cluster/sector improves living conditions of internally displaced persons located in camps/settlements by ensuring that both assistance and protection are provided while finding durable solutions.

The CCCM Cluster applies to all types of camps/settlements for both natural disasters and conflict induced displaced persons including: 

  •  Planned Camps
  • Collective Centers
  • Self-settled Camps
  • Reception/Transit Centers

 Responsibilities of the CCCM Cluster

  • Ensuring the systematic participation of all camp residents in decision making and camp life.
  • Ensuring that standards are consistently applied in all camps/settlements in line with existing global policies and standards.
  • Ensuring all actors working in camps/settlements are guided by a common policy framework established by the cluster.
  • Developing an overall camp/settlement response strategy involving all partners.
  • Ensuring the effective coordination of humanitarian assistances and services.
  • Ensuring that camps/settlements are safe for all residents.
  • Identifying gaps and needs in terms of protection and assistance in and among camps/settlements.
  • Providing partners with systematic information on residents, humanitarian services and gaps in camps/settlements
  • Advocating for durable solutions to be found as quickly as possible.

  • The CCCM Cluster does not advocate for the creation of camps.
  • The CCCM Cluster is not a provider of all services in a camp, but rather serves as a coordinating body within and among camps/settlements.
  • The CCCM Cluster does not apply to host family situations
